D.A.D.S. in Manchester started in the summer of 2007 with a small group of men that have one thing in common - we have a child with Down syndrome. We felt it was important to unite for a social event to celebrate our children and to share our experiences.
We started as a place where fathers can share with other fathers about the important things in our lives. We have been very pleased to see consistent attendance at every one of the monthly meetings and have welcomed at least one father new to D.A.D.S. every month since our inception. We come from various backgrounds and walks of life and look forward to accomplishing great things for our children in the coming years.
We hope to encourage positive ways fathers can be involved in the lives of their children.
Our goal is to create a network of fathers of children with Down syndrome, to build a camaraderie and friendship amoung fathers and families of children with Down syndrome.
If you are a father of a child with Down syndrome and looking for a place to share your story and/or find others willing to share in the joy of fatherhood, please join our mailing list and know you are welcome to attend our meeting. We look forward to hearing from you
